Men's Bowling finishes third of 20 at Ohio Bowling Conference III tournament, breaks 12-game baker record

COLUMBUS — The Ohio Northern men's bowling team broke its 12 baker-game school record en route to a third place finish at the Ohio Bowling Conference III tournament on Thursday.
The Basics
- Ohio Northern was third of 20 teams with 5,551 pins for three regular games and 12 baker games.
- Venue: Palace Lanes - Columbus, Ohio.
- Ohio State won the team title with 5803 pins, Muskingum was second with 5555 pins and Baldwin Wallace was fourth with 5516 pins.
ONU Individuals
- Sophomore Jake Manbevers (Greenfield/Miami Trace) rolled a career-best 667 series to finish 11th overall. His high game of 249 was also a tem-best on the day.
- Freshman Tanner Iles (Cincinnati/Oak Hills) was 21st with a 25 with a high game of 220.
- Sophomore Giovanni Scanio (Corpus Christi, Tex./London) was 33rd with a 596.
- Sophomore Zander Crouch (DeGraff/Riverside) was 44th with a 575 with a high game of 244.
Notables
- The Polar Bears were third in the team standings after three games with 3,068 pins, averaging 204.5 ppg.
- Northern was just 15 pins shy of the school record of 3,083 set earlier this season at the OBC II tournament.
- ONU then knocked down a school record 2483 pins in its 12 baker games, an average of 206.9 per game.
- Manbever's 667 series is the third-best in ONU history.
- Iles' 636 series is the fourth-best in Ohio Northern history and gives him two of the top four 3-game series in program history.
- Scanio's 596 series is the ninth-best in school history.
- Third-year head coach Jeff Robinson leads the Polar Bears.
