Men's Basketball set to open 2026-27 season Nov. 7 at home against area-rival Bluffton

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's basketball team will open its 116th season in program history with a home game at the ONU Sports Center against area-rival Bluffton on Nov. 7th.

The Polar Bears will open the away portion of their 2026-27 schedule on Nov. 11 at Ohio Wesleyan.

Northern will then play home non-conference games against Manchester (Ind.) on Nov. 14th, Trine (Ind.) on Nov. 21st, and Albion (Mich.) on Dec. 2nd. ONU will visit Kenyon on Nov. 24th, and will travel to Alma (Mich.) to close out its road non-conference games.

The 16-game Ohio Athletic Conference schedule will get underway with an away contest at Wilmington on Dec. 10.

The team will also face off against UW-Stout (Wisc.) and Mary Hardin-Baylor (Tex.) on their spring break trip to Daytona Beach (Fla.)

Ohio Northern was 18-9 overall with a 12-4 record in the OAC last season.

ONU Head Coach Jon Tropf will be in his 2nd season with the Polar Bears in 2026-27 with a career winning percentage of .667.
