Seniors lead the way in 104-72 Senior Day victory over Marietta

ADA — A combined 37 points from seniors Mason Studer (Gallion/Colonel Crawford) and Will Miller (Ottoville) led the Ohio Northern men's basketball team to 104-72 Senior Day victory over Marietta on Saturday afternoon.

The Game

• Miller led the Polar Bears in scoring with 20 points and 5 boards. 
• Studer added a career-high 17 points and dished out 3 assists
• Junior Theo Maag (Ottawa/Ottawa-Glandorf) added 13 points and 10 boards to log his first double-double of the season. 
• Sophomore Aiden Harris (Pandora Gilboa) added 12 points off the bench. 
• A 3-pointer from senior Bryce Stuart (Lucasville) capped a 17-2 run to give the Polar Bears their largest lead of the game at 73-37. 
• Freshman Joey Diedrich (Sandusky/Perkins) nailed a three with 2:08 to go in the game push the Polar Bears to triple digits at 100-69.
• The Polar Bears led 50-32 at halftime.
• A Harris 3-pointer gave Northern its largest lead of the half at 35-15 with 7:19 to play.
• Northern was in control from the start, opening the game on a 26-7 run.
• Ohio Northern was 37-of-65 from the floor for 56.9 percent and made 10-of-26 three-pointers for 38.5 percent, while Marietta finished 26-of-67 from the field for38.8 percent and 7-of-22 from three-point range for 31.8 percent. 
• ONU made 13-of-16 free throws for 81.3 percent and MC was 20-of-24 from the foul line for 83.3 percent.
• The Polar Bears outrebounded the Pioneers 38-34.

• Ohio Northern now leads the all-time series 64-48 over Marietta. 
• Miller is now 20th all-time in Northern with 1278 points in 101 career games. Miller is also ranked 6th in the conference in ppg with 16.1. 
• Miller is now in the 8th in ONU history with 162 steals.
• Ohio Northern has clinched its third consecutive winning season with its 17-8 record.
• The Polar Bears also clinched the No. 3 seed in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament and will be hosting a first round game Tuesday.
• Ohio Northern continues its 115th season of varsity men's basketball and has a record of 1398-1091, a winning percentage of .561.
• Head coach Jon Tropf is in his first season at Ohio Northern with a 17-8 record.
