Men's Basketball takes down Heidelberg behind a 41-8 run to win 71-43

TIFFIN — The Ohio Northern men's basketball team used a 41-8 run to post a 71-43 victory at Heidelberg 71-43 on Wednesday evening.

- Senior Will Miller (Ottoville) led the Polar Bears with 15 points and brought down 5 rebounds.
- Sophomore Conye Gaston (Toledo/Christian) added 15 points off the bench.
- Junior Theo Maag (Ottowa) added 12 points and grabbed 5 boards.
- Sophomore Aiden Harris (Pandora) also added 11 points.
- Riley Gossum led the Student Princes with 8 points.
- Trailing 8-2 early, Ohio Northern used a 41-8 run from the 17:14 mark in the 1st to the 18:25 mark in the second half to build a 43-16 lead.
- A made three-pointer by freshman Austin Schultz (Perrysburg) marked the largest lead for ONU at 69-38 with 2:10 left to play
- ONU led 36-16 at the half and started the second half on a 7-0 run to grab that 43-16 advantage with 1:35 gone in the second half.
- Ohio Northern responded with a 32-6 run over the next 16:15 of the 1st half giving them a large lead at 34-14. This run included a 14-0 from the 16:33 mark to 9:22 remaining before half. O
- Northern was 30-of-66 from the floor for 45.5 percent and made 8-of-26 three-pointers for 30.8 percent, while Heidelberg finished 13-of-48 from the field for 27.1 percent and 3-of-17 from three-point range for 17.6 percent.
- ONU made 3-of-6 free throws for 50.0 percent and HU was 14-of-20 from the foul line for 70.0 percent.
- The Polar Bears out rebounded the Student Princes 45-31.
