Saturday's Preview: The Polar Bears close out their January schedule at Ohio Athletic Conference foe Mount Union on Saturday at 4 p.m. in the second half of a women's-men's doubleheader … In the teams' first matchup this season, Mount Union won 72-56 in Ada on Dec. 11 … Northern, which trailed by just two points with 10:38 left in that game before giving up a 15-2 run, was led by senior Brandon Waugh (15 points) and juniors C.J. Napier (10) and Michael Berner (10) … ONU is coming off Wednesday's 68-64 win at Wilmington … Waugh tallied 17 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists in the game, posting his fifth career double-double … Junior Adam Scott (17 points) and Napier (15) also scored in double figures in the win … ONU is averaging 69.2 points per game and allowing 75.1 points per contest while shooting 44.5% from the field, 36.1% on 3-pointers and 64.2% from the foul line … Northern currently has three players averaging double figures in scoring with Napier (14.7 points per game), Waugh (12.2) and Scott (12.1) … Napier ranks ninth in the OAC in scoring average, and his team-high 7.9 rebounds per game ranks fourth in the conference … Waugh leads the team with 28 made 3-pointers on 41.2% shooting from beyond the arc … Waugh leads ONU with 55 assists, which is tied for sixth in the OAC, and his 25 steals rank fifth in the conference … Waugh ranks 11th on the program's all-time career steals list with 137, and his 242 career assists rank 20th on ONU's all-time leaderboard in that category … The Polar Bears will next host Otterbein on Wednesday at 7 p.m. … Mount Union is ranked No. 11 in this week's D3hoops.com Top 25 poll and enters Saturday's game riding a five-game win streak capped by Wednesday's 89-80 home win over John Carroll … The Purple Raiders finished with four double-figure scorers in the game led by sophomore Christian Parker, who finished with a career-high 28 points to go with 11 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season … Parker recorded a 24-point, 10-rebound double-double in Mount's win over ONU earlier this season as one of three double-figure scorers in the game … Mount Union is averaging 82.8 points per game while allowing an OAC-low 66.1 points per contest and is shooting 50.5% from the floor, 36.4% on 3-pointers and 65.6% from the foul line … Mount leads the OAC in field goal percentage … The Purple Raiders boast five players averaging double-digit scoring in Parker (18.9 points per game), seniors Ethan Stanislawski (14.4), Braedon Poole (12.1) and Darrell Newsom (10.8) and junior Chris Painter Jr. (10.7) … Parker is tied for third in the OAC in scoring average … Stanislawski leads the OAC in assists (93), ranks fourth in in 3-pointers made (39) and seventh in 3-point percentage (43.8) … Poole (8.4) and Parker (7.6) rank second and fifth, respectively, in the OAC in rebounds per game … Poole leads the OAC in steals (41) and ranks third in blocks (26).
