Eight Polar Bears named CSC Academic All-District in Football for 2025

ADA — College Sports Communicators named eight Ohio Northern student-athletes to its Academic All-District Team in football for the 2025 season.
Fifth-year senior Luke Zebell (Waynesville), seniors Jordan Bassler (Monroe, Mich.), Louie Blasiole (Mantua/Crestwood), Alex Frimel (Minster), Jacob Marjak (Perry) and Nate Singara (Lakewood/Holy Name) and juniors Jacob Hershberger (Lima/Allen East) and Quentin Lehman (Dalton) all received the honor.
This marks the third straight year that Bassler and Blasiole have been named CSC Academic All-District, Marjak and Lehman are now two-time honorees and the remaining four are first-time honorees.
Zebell, a business major, started in 10 games at nose tackle this season and had 16 tackles and four tackles for loss.
In 24 career games at ONU, Zebell has 31 tackles, 5.5 TFL, two sacks and one interception for seven yards.
Bassler, a sport management and accounting double major, started in all 11 games on the offensive line this season.
Bassler has played in 29 career games in his four years at Northern.
Blasiole, a computer engineering major, was named All-District IV and Fourth Team All-America by D3football this season and is a two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference honoree after earning First Team honors this season.
Blasiole led the team in rushing this season with 1,399 yards on 281 carries and 20 touchdowns. He led the OAC in rushing touchdowns and rushing yards.
In 30 career games, Blasiole has 2,815 yards on 562 carries and 35 touchdowns. He ranks 8th on the all-time career rushing list at ONU.
Frimel, an electrical engineering major, started all 11 games this season at left guard.
Frimel has appeared in 16 games in his career at ONU.
Marjak, an engineering major, started all 11 games at right tackle this season.
Marjak has played in 30 career games in four years at Ohio Northern.
Sinagra, a construction management major, played in all 11 games at linebacker this season and had nine tackles.
In four years at ONU, he has played in 26 games with 19 tackles and one fumble recovery.
Hershberger, an engineering major, started in 10 games this season and led the team with 57 tackles, four interceptions for 75 yards and 13 pass breakups and also had 7.5 tackles for loss.
In 24 career games, he has 77 tackles, 8.5 TFL, five interceptions for 116 yards and 14 pass breakups.
Lehman, a mechanical engineering major, was named First Team All-America by the Associated Press, All-District IV and Fourth Team All-America by D3football and won the OAC Ken Wable Award for the most outstanding offensive lineman this season.
He started all 11 games at center in 2025 and in three years at ONU has started all 31 career games at center.
The CSC Academic All-District Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Academic All-America honorees will be announced on Jan. 27.
The Polar Bears finished the season 8-3 overall and finished second in the OAC with a 7-1 league mark under second-year head coach Andy Fries. Northern made its fifth postseason appearance in program history in the Opendorse Bowl Series.
