Sophomore Zach Schmerge named OAC Defensive Player of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern sophomore Zach Schmerge was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in ONU's 34-20 victory over Heidelberg.
For the second time in three starts, Schmerge had a game-high 16 tackles to lead the Polar Bears.
The sophomore also broke up a pass and recorded a half sack in the contest.
This is Schmerge second OAC Player of the Week honor this season.
The Polar Bears return to action Saturday as they travel to #11 John Carroll for a 1:30 pm kick-off.
