ADA — A six-run fourth inning blew open a tight game and helped the Ohio Northern baseball team to an 11-6 victory over Trine (Ind.) on Tuesday afternoon.

The Game
- The Ohio Northern offense erupted in the fourth to score 6 runs in the inning, including 5 runs with 2 outs, to take a commanding 10-2 lead.
- Senior Andrew Stechschulte (Findlay) led the Polar Bears offense going 2-3 at the plate as well as 2 RBIs.
- Brayden Windnagel (Etna/Watkins Memorial) started for Ohio Northern, throwing 5.0 innings and only allowing 2 runs while striking out 8 batters to pick up his second win of the season.
- Trine drew first blood with a run in the second inning, but the Polar Bears answered with 2 runs in the bottom half of the second.
- The Thunder tied the game at 2-2 in the third inning, but the Polar Bear offense once again answered with an RBI single from Kyler Lapp (Hall, Ill.) and a sacrifice fly from Chase Armstrong (Louisville, Ky./Trinity) to make it 4-2 in the bottom of the frame.
- Senior Robbie Reed (Goshen, Ky./Trinity) added an RBI bunt single and then Armstrong pushed another run across when he drew a bases loaded walk in the fourth to put ONU up 6-2.
- Stechschulte hit a 2 RBI single to push the Northern lead to 9-2.
- Trine out hit ONU 11-7.
