Senior Jack Hutchins named All-American by D3baseball.com

ADA — Ohio Northern senior pitcher Jack Hutchins (Bright, Ind./East Central) was named to the d3baseball.com All-America Team for the 2023 season.

Hutchins was named to the All-America Fifth Team. He was one of 81 selections among 1,106 nominees from across the country named to one of five All-America teams after earning D3baseball.com All-Region 7 First Team honors on Monday.

Also an All-Ohio Athletic Conference First Team and ABCA/Rawlings All-Region 7 Second Team honoree, Hutchins posted a 7-2 record with a 1.91 ERA and 59 strikeouts while holding opposing batters to a .222 average in 66 innings spanning 12 appearances, including nine starts, in 2023. He ranked third in the OAC in ERA, tied for sixth in wins and ninth in strikeouts.

In four years at ONU, Hutchins has a career 10-3 record with a 4.25 ERA and 75 strikeouts in 27 appearances spanning 84.2 innings.

Under 12th-year head coach Gene Stechschulte, the Polar Bears finished 27-15 overall in 2023, placing third in the OAC with a 12-6 league mark en route to earning their 20th all-time appearance in the OAC Tournament.
