The Ohio Northern men's golf team won the NAIA District 22 title and finished 26th at the NAIA National Championships in the spring of 1971 under head coach Larry Michael.

The Polar Bears set a then-school record with 36 wins against 32 losses just two years before rejoining the Ohio Athletic Conference.
