Ohio Northern won 22 Mid-Ohio League championships from 1950-1962.

Men's Golf and Men's Tennis each won nine league titles, Football won three and Baseball won the 1960 crown during the school's 13 seasons as a member of the NAIA conference.

The Polar Bears played as an NAIA independent from 1963-1973.

Ohio Northern rejoined the Ohio Athletic Conference in the fall of 1973 as an NCAA Division III member.
