Seven named Academic All-OAC in Women's Track & Field/Cross Country; two additional named in Track & Field

ADA -- Seven Polar Bears were named Academic All-OAC in women's track & field/cross country and two more earned the award for only track & field, in voting conducted by the league's 10 faculty advisors.
Seniors Casey Adamcik, Alison Steinbrunner, Sarah Turley and Lydia Weaver, junior Laura Avino and Brooke Larsen and sophomore Catie Huber earned the award in track & field/cross country.
In addition, seniors Emily Blum and Vicki Moga were named Academic All-OAC in track & field only.
Adamcik posted her career best in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
The marketing major also posted career best times in the cross country season in both the 5k and the 6k.
Steinbrunner finished second at the NCAA III Cross Country Championships this season.
The pharmacy major owns six school records in track & field and the school record in both the 5k and 6k in cross country.
Turley bettered her times during the cross country season in both the 5k and 6k.
The pharmacy major finished a career best 19th at the OAC Cross Country Championships.
Weaver, a pharmacy major, has broke her own school record in the outdoor 1,500-meter run twice this season.
She finished eighth at the NCAA Cross Country Regionals and was 85th at the NCAA III Cross Country Championships.
Avino finished seventh in the 1,000-meter run at the OAC Indoor Championships.
In addition, the pharmacy major earned All-OAC honors as part of the 4x800-meter relay team at the OAC Outdoor Championships.
Larsen, who is majoring in forensic biology, earned All-OAC status at the OAC Outdoor Championships as part of the 4x800-meter relay team.
In addition, she posted new career bests in both the 5k and 6k during the cross country season.
Huber earned four All-OAC honors and was part of the OAC champion DMR team during the indoor and outdoor track season.
The biology major finished 12th at the OAC Cross Country Championships, which earned her All-OAC status.
Blum, a pharmacy major, notched a seventh place finish in the triple jump at the OAC Outdoor Championships.
She bettered her personal bests in both the triple jump and long jump.
Moga, who majors in marketing/advertising design, was the OAC Indoor and Outdoor champion in the high jump.
She qualified for the NCAA III Indoor Championships and finished tied for 10th place.
To be considered for this honor, a student-athlete must be sophomore standing, be a varsity member and have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50.
