Women's Outdoor Track & Field finishes fifth at Kenyon Invitational

GAMBIER — Sophomore Gabrielle Metzner notched two top-three finished to lead the Ohio Northern women's outdoor track & field team to a fifth place finish at the Kenyon Invitational on Saturday.
Northern finished with 68 points in the meet.
Ashland won the meet with 150 points, Wooster was second with 114.50 points and Otterbein was third with 89.50 points.
Metzner was second in the 200-meter dash, posting a time of 27.90 seconds, and finished third in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.63 seconds.
The 4x400-meter relay team of juniors Laura Avino and Erin Radigan, sophomore Catie Huber and freshman Brittany Lee won in 4:20.30.
Senior Vick Moga also notched a third place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.53 meters, and Radigan was third in the 800-meter run in 2:27.56.
The Polar Bears had three finish in the top eight in the triple jump.
Senion Emily Blum came in third with a leap of 10.18 meters, sophomore Paige Waugh and sophomore Shannon Hageman came in seventh and eighth with leaps of 9.81 and 9.84 meters, respectively.
Freshman Kristine Wagner finished sixth in the long jump, leaping 4.75 meters.
Wagner also finished sixth in the 100-meter dash in 13.44 seconds and eighth in the 400-hurdles in 1:11.85.
Freshman Michaela Dramis was fifth in the hammer throw, with a season best throw of 41.32 meters.
Hageman and Huber finished sixth and seventh in the 400-meter run, with times of 1:03.38 and 1:03.39, respectively.
Freshman Gabrielle Heck cleared 2.60 meters in the pole vault, which was good for a sixth place finish.
Freshman McKenna Earley posted a throw of 31.25 meters in the discus, which placed her eighth.
In the 5,000-meter run, junior Katie Klopp finished eighth in 20:18.67.
Ohio Northern will return to competition on Friday and Saturday when it competes at the OAC Championships hosted by Mount Union.
