Men’s Track & Field tabbed to finish atop of OAC in 2012 Indoor Season
ADA — The Polar Bear men's track and field team were picked as the favorites to win the indoor conference championship, as voted by the conference track & field head coaches.
Northern picked up 77 points (including six first place votes), edging Mount Union with 72 points and four first place votes.
Baldwin-Wallace was picked to finish third with 67 points, followed by Marietta and Otterbein who were tied for fourth with 47 points.
Ohio Northern won its fourth straight indoor conference title in 2011, the program's sixth title overall. Entering this season, the team returns five conference champions, including seniors Jacob Schwab and Dan Smith.
Additionally, seven All-Conference performers are back this year, led by two-time All-OAC runners in junior Ben Ankrom and sophomore Francis Pierre-Jerome.
The 2012 season kicks off tonight (Friday, Jan. 20) at the Northwest Ohio Meet at Findlay.
