Junior Colin Burns named OAC Men's Golfer of the Week after record-breaking performance

ADA — Ohio Northern junior Colin Burns was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for the week of Sept. 25-Oct. 1.

Burns broke the school's 36-hole scoring record with a 2-under par 70-70—140, leading the Polar Bears (21-4) to a victory at the Mount Union Fall Invitational Sunday-Monday at Tannenhauf Golf Course and the Alliance Country Club.

As a team, ONU also broke its 18- and 36-hole school records with a 286 on the first day and a 591 for the tournament.

This marks the second time that Burns has won the award, as he was also honored on March 26, 2012.

The Polar Bears will wrap up their fall schedule this Saturday and Sunday at the Wittenberg Fall Invitational.
