Former ONU All-American Kyle Meyer signs professional contract with Lima Explosion of ABA
ADA — Former Ohio Northern All-American Kyle Meyer has signed a 1-year contract to play professional basketball with the Lima Explosion of the American Basketball Association in 2011-12.
Meyer, a Columbus Grove native, was named Second Team All-America by the National Association of Basketball Coaches and Honorable Mention All-America by D3Hoops.com as a senior at ONU.
He was named the 2010 Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Year was a three-time All-OAC honoree, earning First Team honors in 2009 and 2010 and Honorable Mention honors in 2008.
Meyer ended his career ranked 15th all-time at ONU with 1,316 points and seventh with 51 blocked shots. He is also ONU's all-time career leader in field goal shooting percentage, making 59.9 percent of his attempts.
Meyer led the OAC in scoring at 18.6 ppg and in rebounding at 7.6 rpg in 2009-10.
