Trusnik is a 7-year veteran of the National Football League after spending two seasons with the New York Jets, two seasons with the Cleveland Browns and now three seasons with the Miami Dolphins.
He has one year remaining on a 3-year contract he signed with the Dolphins in 2012.
In 93 career NFL games, Trusnik has 172 tackles, 3.5 sacks and two fumble recoveries as a linebacker and on special teams.
He started 10 games with the Cleveland Browns in 2009, finishing with a career-high 56 tackles, and has started 19 games at linebacker in his career.
Trusnik was five-year standout for Ohio Northern from 2002-06 and earned All-American honors as a defensive end for the polar Bears in 2004 and 2006.
He led the nation in sacks (18.0) and tackles for loss (31.0) in 2004.
His senior year of 2005 was cut short due to a foot injury, but he bounced back in 2006 with another All-American year with 11 sacks and 19.5 TFL.
Trusnik is still ONU's all-time career leader in sacks (43.0) and tackles for loss (85.0).
