ADA The Ohio Northern volleyball team will look to capture its ninth straight Ohio Athletic Conference regular season title and NCAA-record 32nd straight winning season in 2008.
The Polar Bears will kick things off by hosting the annual ONU Invitational on Aug. 29-30.
ONU then hits the road for the always challenging Washington (Mo.) National Invitational on Sept. 5-6 to compete against some of the top teams in the nation.
After a non-conference match at home with area-rival Bluffton, the Bears travel to the Wittenberg Invitational on Sept. 12-13. Northern will also travel to two other invitationals this season, Sept. 26-27 at Mt. St. Joseph and Oct. 24-25 at Trinity (Tex.) in San Antonio.
Having won eight straight OAC regular season crowns, ONU will look to keep the streak going when it opens conference play on Oct. 2 at John Carroll.
The Polar Bears will host OAC opponents Heidelberg, Mount Union, Marietta Muskingum and Baldwin-Wallace. They will travel to John Carroll, Otterbein Wilmington and Capital.
The eight-team OAC Tournament is slated for Nov. 4-8. The Bears have claimed five of the last seven tournament crowns.
