All-America team

ADA — Sophomore Tina Mangola (Cranberry Township, Pa.) was named Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III Third Team All-America in softball for 2008 in voting conducted by the National Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association.

Mangola is a repeat Third Team All-America selection, earning the honor as a freshman in 2007, and is ONU’s all-time career home run record leader with 22 as a two-year starter in right field.

She is also a two-time First Team All-Region and two-time First Team All-OAC honoree.

She followed up her OAC triple-crown freshman season in 2007 (.489 BA, 12 HR, 49 RBI) with another outstanding season in 2008.

This year, she hit .448 with team-highs of 10 home runs, 43 RBI, a school-record 16 doubles, five triples and 51 runs scored. She also was a perfect 13-for-13 in stolen bases.
