Women's Track & Field wins the team title at the Mike Becraft Invitational

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's track & field won the team title at the 6-team Mike Becraft Invitational Saturday at Kerscher Stadium.
The Polar Bears (25-9 overall) won the the team title with 139 points. Otterbein finished second with 133 points and Marietta finished third with 106 points.
Junior Kayla Silva (Westerville/South) won the 200 in :25.58 and finished second in the long jump with a 4.84 meter leap.
Freshman J.J. Herron (Miamisburg) won the 800, crossing the line in 2:23.67.
Freshman Rachel Thompson (West Milton/Milton-Union) won the 5000 in 20:03.21.
Senior Kathleen Colvin (Hilliard/Bishop Ready) and junior Taylor Ellerbrock (Columbus Grove) finished 2-3 in the 1500 in 4:57.54, and 5:05.45, respectively.
Senior Stella DeWitt (Weston/Cardinal Stritch) and freshman Alexis Starner (Wellington) were 2-3 in the 100 meters in :12.83 and :13.27, respectively.
DeWitt also finished third in the 200 in :26.63 and Starner placed third in the 100 meter hurdles in :16.92.
Freshman Emily Tackett (Deshler/Patrick Henry) was third in the discus with a 33.04 meter throw.
Freshman Juliet Palmer (Ostrander/Fairbanks) recorded a third place finish in the javelin with 27.04 meter throw
Freshman Rosie Schroeder (Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) finished third in the 400 meter hurdles in 1:10.81.
Head coach Jason Maus became just the second coach in ONU history to surpass the 400-win plateau in Women's Outdoor Track and Field and is now 401-158-3 in 12 seasons at Ohio Northern.
The Polar Bears continue their outdoor season by traveling to the Baldwin Wallace Invitational on Friday.
