Vestal leads No. 7 Women's Track and Field to third place finish at the Mount Union Wuske Invitational

ALLIANCE — Senior Kylie Vestal (Youngstown/Austintown Fitch) won the 1,000-meter run to lead the No. 7-ranked Ohio Northern women's track and field team to a third place finish at the Mount Union Wuske Invitational Saturday.
The Polar Bears (5-4 overall) finished in third with 94.5 points. Mount Union won the invitational with 186.5 points, No. 2 John Carroll finished second with 163 points and Heidelberg finished fourth with 74 points.
Vestal won the 1,000 in 3:09.08.
Senior Stella DeWitt (Weston/Cardinal Stritch) finished second in 60 meters hurdles in 9.21 seconds.
Junior Megan Wright (Eaton/Twin Valley South) finished third in 3,000 in 10:47.09.
Sophomore Anna Schatzle (Brookville, Ind./Franklin County) and freshman Olivia Ogg (Hebron/Lakewood) finished third and fourth in pole vault with vaults of 3.11 meters, and 2.96 meters respectively.
Freshman Julianna Herron (Miamisburg) finished third in 500 in 1:23.34.
Junior Kayla Silva (Westerville/South)finished fourth in the 60 meters in 8.04 seconds.
Freshman Emily Tackett (Deshler/Patrick Henry) finished fourth in the weight throw with a throw of 12.92 meters.
The Polar Bears will return to action next Sunday as a split squad at the Capital Sprints/Jumps Meet, and the Otterbein Distance/Throws Meet.
