Men's Tennis celebrates Senior Day with 7-0 OAC victory over John Carroll

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team celebrated Senior Day with a 7-0 victory over John Carroll on Sunday afternoon at the West Campus Courts.
The Basics
- Records: Ohio Northern (7-7 Overall, 1-0 OAC); John Carroll (2-8 Overall, 1-1 OAC).

Individual Highlights
- ONU swept the doubles courts to take the doubles point, then won all of the six singles courts to record the victory.
- ONU lost tiebreakers at Nos. 1-4 singles in the match that was much closer than the score would indicate.
- Senior Peyton Specht (Munster, Ind.) won 6-4, 7-5 at No. 1 singles.
- Junior T.J. Schultz (Grand Blanc, Mich.) won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2 singles
- Sophomore Tyler Wood (Toledo/St. John's) won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.
- Freshman Noah Boyce (Oakwood) won 7-5, 6-2 at No. 4 singles.
- Sophomore Kessler Hackenberger (Tipp City/Tippecanoe) won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 5 singles.
- Senior Sam Sran (Punjab, India/St. Stephens and Gian Jyoti Global) won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
- Specht and Wood scored the final six tiebreaker points to win 7-6(4) at No. 1 doubles.
- Schultz and Boyce won 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.
- Hackenberger and Sophomore Kosuke Asada (Findlay) won 6-2 at No. 3 doubles.
Notables
- The Polar Bears lead the series between the two schools by a 32-14 margin.
- The NCAA had adopted a 7-point team scoring system for Division III, where the three doubles contests only count for one team point as is used in NCAA Divisions I and II.
- Wood leads the team with a 16-6 singles record and Boyce is right behind at 15-8.
- Specht, Wood and Boyce each have 10 doubles wins.
- Wood has a team-best 26-19 overall record.
- Boyce is second overall at 25-20.
