Davis, Carter, Frank named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference

ADA — Ohio Northern seniors Casey Davis and Jeff Carter and sophomore Joey Frank were named to the Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference At-Large team for 2010-11 in voting conducted by the league's 10 faculty advisors.
Davis, a swimmer, and Carter, a tennis player, were named Academic All-OAC, while Frank, a tennis player, was an Honorable Mention Academic All-OAC honoree.
Davis is a three-time Academic All-Conference award winner, earning the honor in both his sophomore and junior years, as well.
An accounting/international business major, Davis ended his career as a six-time All-Conference honoree and won the 2008 OAC title as part of ONU's 800 free relay team.
This season, he was runner-up in the 1650 free and was third in the 400 I.M. to earn All-OAC honors in both events.
Carter, a mechanical engineering major, is making his second appearance on the Academic All-OAC At-Large team, as he earned Honorable Mention as a junior in 2009-10.
He finished the 2010-11 season with a 16-6 singles record, a 22-6 doubles mark and a 38-12 overall record.
In his four seasons as a Polar Bear, Carter was 54-22 in singles, 71-22 in doubles and was 125-44 overall.
His 125 overall wins ranks him fourth all-time in ONU history, his 71 doubles wins place him second on the all-time list and his 52 singles wins is the ninth-best total in ONU history.
Frank, a pharmaceutical business major, is one of only two sophomores to earn Academic All-OAC kudos.
This season, Frank was 17-7 in singles, including a 14-3 mark at the No. 1 spot, was 20-9 in doubles and was 37-16 overall.
In two seasons at ONU, Frank is 36-13 in singles, 41-15 in doubles and is 77-28 overall.
To be eligible for Academic All-OAC, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 cumulative gpa, be a starter or key reserve and be in at least his second year of participation in the sport.
Both the ONU men's swimming & diving and tennis teams won OAC Championships this season.
