Men's Bowling improves an impressive seven places on second day to finish 13th at ITC Addison Sectional

ADDISON, Ill. — The Ohio Northern men's bowling team moved up seven places to finish 13th after the final day of the ITC Addison Sectional tournament on Sunday.
The Basics
- Ohio Northern was 13th of 20 teams with a school-record 12,203 pins for 64 baker games.
- Venue: Stardust Bowl won the team title with 13678 pins, St. Ambrose (Iowa) was second with 13618 pins, Marian (Wis.) was third with 13398 pins and Spring Arbor (Mich.) was fourth with 13263 pins.
ONU Individuals
- The tournament was made up entirely of Baker games, so there were no individual results.
- Nine Polar Bears competed in the ISC Qualifier on Friday, with each bowler rolling six games each.
- Freshman Chris Ritchie (Mechanicsburg) led ONU with a 6-game series of 1,204 to finish 44th of 285 individuals.
- Sophomore Zander Crouch (DeGraff/Riverside) rolled a 1196 with a team-best high game of 267 to finish 54th.
- Freshman Alex Grant (Mansfield) was 148th with a 1095.
- Sophomore Giovanni Scanio (Corpus Christi, Tex./London) bowled a 1083 to finish 162nd.
Notables
- The teams bowled 64 baker games in total - 32 on Saturday and 32 on Sunday.
- Northern improved seven places on day two, finishing the final 32 baker games with 7,284 pins after knocking down 5,919 to stand 20th after the first 32 bakers on Saturday.
- The top four teams in each of the four Sectionals advance to the ITC National Championships.
- Last year's squad finished 17th of 20 with 11712 pins.
- Ritchie's 1204 is the second-best in ONU history and just five off of the school record of 1209.
- Crouch's 1196 is the fourth-best in school history.
- Grant is now 9th on the list with his 1095.
- Scanio is now 10th with his 1083.
- Third-year head coach Jeff Robinson leads the Polar Bears.
