Preview: No. 23-ranked Ohio Northern will kick off its 2019 season Friday afternoon as it plays host to the 41st Annual ONU Invitational ... The tournament, which features five teams, will see three matches played on Friday afternoon and five contests on Saturday ... Northern will play the first match of the tournament at 2 pm on Friday as they take on #13 Illinois Wesleyan ... After #6 Wittenberg plays HCAC preseason favorite Transylvania (Ky.) at 4:30 pm, Northern will take on #2 Calvin (Mich.) at 7 pm to close out the first day of the tournament ... On Saturday, ONU will face #6 Wittenberg and Transylvania (Ky.) at 1 pm and 3:30 pm, respectively ... In all, eight matches will be played on the center and south courts ... Senior middle hitter Chelsea Huppert will look to lead Northern this season after after earning AVCA Honorable Mention All-America honors each of the past two seasons ...
