Junior Chelsea Huppert named AVCA Honorable Mention All-America for the second consecutive season

ADA — Ohio Northern junior Chelsea Huppert (Bremen, Ind.) was named Honorable Mention All-America in volleyball for the 2018 season by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Huppert is is now a two-time All-American, as she also earned the honor as a sophomore in 2017.

She is also a three-time All-OAC honoree as a middle hitter and is made her second consecutive appearance as a First Team All-Region honoree.

Huppert led the team and was third in the OAC with 368 kills and a .340 hitting percentage this season.

Last season, she was named First Team All-Great Lakes Region and an Honorable Mention All-America by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

In 96 career matches, Huppert has 1,025 kills, 286 blocks and a .338 hitting percentage.

The Polar Bears finished the 2018 season with a 22-8 overall record, shared the OAC Regular Season title with an 8-1 league record and won their league record 20th OAC Tournament title under 28th-year head coach Kate Witte.

ONU also advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the 31st time in the 29-year history of the event.
