Saturday's Preview: The #16-ranked Ohio Northern volleyball program returns home to the ONU Sports Center this Saturday, September 29 as the Polar Bears welcome in the Marietta Pioneers for a weekend Ohio Athletic Conference showdown ... Match time is set for 1 p.m. ... The Polar Bears enter the match sporting an 11-3 overall record and a 1-0 mark in the OAC ... In the team's most recent outing, Northern opened their 2018 OAC regular season slate with a 3-1 triumph at John Carroll inside the DeCarlo Center on Tuesday evening ... Former AVCA All-American selection and current junior middle hitter Chelsea Huppert and senior outside hitter McKenna Jordan guided the offensive attack as they registered 16 and 15 kills, respectively ... Sophomore Madison Broering leads the team and sits eighth in the OAC with 260 digs while Wade leads the Polar Bears and ranks second in assists in the OAC with an average of 10.86 per set ... As a team, Ohio Northern sits second in the conference with a .256 hitting percentage and leads the league with an average of 18.52 digs per set ... Huppert's current career hitting percentage of .346 is the third-best in ONU history ... Wade ranks 7th all-time in ONU history with 1,923 career assists ... Marietta enters the weekend contest owning an 8-11 overall record and no conference record ... The Pioneers have dropped their last four matches, including a 3-1 decision Tuesday at Wooster ... Hunter Barnes leads Marietta with 152 kills on the season while Maddie Nader has 257 assists and 24 service aces to lead the program ... Defensively, April Davis has led the way, recording 277 digs.
