Volleyball moves up two spots to No. 18 in ninth weekly AVCA Division III Poll

ADA — The Ohio Northern volleyball team moved up two spots to No. 18 in the ninth weekly American Volleyball Coaches Association poll, released Tuesday afternoon.

The Polar Bears (25-4 overall, 8-1 Ohio Athletic Conference) received 500 434 points in the poll, which is 66 more than the 434 points they received last week when they were ranked No. 20.

ONU was ranked No. 22 in the preseason poll, was No. 25 in the first weekly poll and No. 22 in the third and fourth weekly polls, No. 17 in the fifth weekly poll and were No. 21 in weeks 6 and 7.

Ohio Northern went 2-0 last week with OAC victories over Baldwin Wallace and Marietta and won its 25th OAC Regular Season title in program history.

Colorado College moved into the top spot in the poll with 1,633 points and 59 first place votes, Southwestern (Tex.) is second with 1549 points and two first place votes and Calvin (Mich.) is third with 1508 points and three first place votes.

The Polar Bears will return to action on Tuesday evening as they host Marietta in the Quarterfinals of the OAC Tournament 7 pm at the ONU Sports Center.
