Volleyball moves up one spot to No. 20 in 8th weekly AVCA Poll

ADA — The Ohio Northern volleyball team moved up one spot to No. 20 in the eighth weekly American Volleyball Coaches Association poll, released Tuesday afternoon.

The Polar Bears (23-4 overall, 6-1 Ohio Athletic Conference) received 434 points in the poll, which is 95 more than the 349 points they received last week when they were ranked No. 21.

ONU was ranked No. 22 in the preseason poll, was No. 25 in the first weekly poll and No. 22 in the third and fourth weekly polls, No. 17 in the fifth weekly poll and have been at No. 21 for the past three weeks.

Ohio Northern went 2-0 last week with OAC victories over Wilmington and Muskingum.

Wittenberg stayed in the top spot in the poll with 1,655 points and 47 first place votes, Colorado College is second with 1,626 points and the remaining 20 first place votes and Southwestern (Tex.) stayed third with 1,481 points.

The Polar Bears will return to action on Tuesday evening as they host Baldwin Wallace in an OAC battle at 7 pm at the ONU Sports Center.
