Members of Outdoor Track & Field compete at Miami Invitational

OXFORD -- Five members of the Ohio Northern outdoor track & field team competed at the Miami Invitational on Saturday afternoon on the campus of Miami (Ohio) University.

The meet featured a handful of Division I teams and was unscored.

Senior Michael Simmons was second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing in 9:18.88, while junior Mark Berton was third with a time of 9:21.53.

Sophomore Ryan Brancheau finished tied for third in the high jump, clearing 1.95 meters (6-2.75).

Senior Lydia Weaver finished 11th of 49 runners in the 1,500-meter run in 4:42.47.

Senior Vicki Moga finished ninth in the high jump, clearing 1.58 meters (5-0.25).

Ohio Northern will return to action on Saturday, when it competes at the All-Ohio Championships, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan.
