Saturday's Match Notes: The Ohio Northern women's tennis team opens their 2018-19 Ohio Athletic Conference slate Saturday afternoon against Mount Union on Senior Day ... Match time is set for 1 p.m. inside the Westwood Tennis & Fitness Center in Lima ... The Polar Bears will recognize senior Ashley Ochsenhirt during the match ... ONU is coming off a 9-0 triumph over NAIA foe Saint Francis (Ind.) last Sunday ... Thus far this season, junior Mackenzie Wills leads the team with a 14-2 singles record and a 29-5 overall record ... Meanwhile, Ochsenhirt and Wills both own a 15-3 doubles record to pace the team ... Junior Katie Curry stands second in singles play at 13-5, and freshman Olivia Schrager is third at 11-8 ... Curry and Schrager also ranks second and third in doubles play with 9-8 and 8-10 records, respectively ... Wills (112-38 overall) and Ochsenhirt (104-40) have each become members of ONU's 100-Win Club this season ... The Purple Raiders enter Saturday's match owning an 8-2 overall record and an 0-1 league mark ... They opened OAC play with a 6-3 loss to Otterbein last Saturday ... Freshman Mackenzie Cavalier leads the team with 18 overall wins in dual matches.

Head Coach Scott Wills: Wills is in his 18th season at the helm of the ONU women's tennis program … He currently stands first in coaching victories among all active Ohio college tennis coaches (NCAA DI, DII, DIII, and NAIA) and is the winningest coach in school history with a 357-95 (.790) record, including a 134-14 (.905) mark against conference competition … He has also coached the program to eight regular season conference crowns and six OAC Tournament titles.
