This weekend's tournament: Ohio Northern returns to the courts this weekend at the Oberlin Invitational ... 13 teams are expected to bring players for singles and doubles play ... Friday's competition will begin with a round of doubles at 2 pm followed by a round of singles ... Each singles player and doubles team will have the opportunity to play at least once each of the three days ... The Polar Bears opened their 45th season in program history with a pair of 9-0 sweeps over Defiance and Concordia (Mich.) on Wednesday ... Senior Ashley Ochsenhirt and freshman Olivia Schrager each won at No. 1 singles to lead ONU ... Schrager also added a singles win at No. 2 and the pair each went 2-0 at No. 1 doubles on the day ... Junior Mackenzie Wills junior Katie Curry and freshman Abigail Staskiewicz also went 2-0 in singles play on the day ... Schrager and Curry both went 4-0 overall on the afternoon.

Head Coach Scott Wills: Wills begins his 18th season at the helm of the ONU women's tennis program on Wednesday … He currently stands first in coaching victories among all active Ohio college tennis coaches (NCAA DI, DII, DIII, and NAIA) and is the winningest coach in school history with a 350-92 (.792) record, including a 134-14 (.905) mark against conference competition … He has also coached the program to eight regular season conference crowns and six OAC Tournament titles.
