Women's Soccer dubbed favorites to win Regular Season title in 2017

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's soccer team has been picked to finish first in the Ohio Athletic Conference regular season standings, voted on by the leagues 10 coaches.

Only the top six vote-getters were mentioned in the poll.

Northern finished first in the poll with 54 points and nine first place votes, while Capital finished second in the poll with 37 points and Otterbein rounded out the top-3 with 33 points.

Northern claimed the OAC Regular Season title in 2016 before falling in the OAC Tournament Championship game.

The Polar Bears finished 15-4-0 overall in 2016 and 8-1-0 in the OAC standings.

ONU opens the 2017 campaign on Sept. 1 as it travels to Albion (Mich.) to take on the Britons at 5 pm under 14th-year head coach Mark Batman.
