Saturday's Preview: Ohio returns to the OAC portion of its schedule on Saturday at the OAC Quad Meet at Mount Union ... ONU will face #11 Mount Union at 10 am and #22 John Carroll at 1 pm ... Northern was scheduled to face Wilmington at 11:30 am, but will win by forfeit as WC has only three healthy wrestlers ... There will also be a mat for exhibition matches between the four schools ... Senior Brandon Bartlome placed third and senior Schuyler Caprella placed fourth to lead the Ohio Northern wrestling team at the Alma (Mich.) Open last Saturday ... The Polar Bears rested their starters after defeating Heidelberg on Thursday, and the reserves put on solid performances ... Bartlome was 5-1 in the 133-pound weight class with a pin and two tech falls and is now 16-10 on the year ... He was named the OAC Wrestler of the Week for his efforts ... Caprella finished the day 5-1 with three consecutive tech falls at 157 pounds to improve to 28-7 on the season ... Freshman Chase Sumner (#16 at 149) and senior Jeff Andrews (#24 at 141) are ranked at their respective weight classes in the Jan. 14 D3Wrestle.com rankings ... Thus far this season, senior Seth Transue (28-2) and Caprella (28-7) lead the team with 28 wins each ... Sumner is third with a 26-4 record... Junior Cash Thompson is 21-5 and leads the team with 11 pins ... Andrews and Caprella lead the team with 8 tech falls and Transue leads the team with 8 major decisions ... Transue (88-41) leads all active ONU wrestlers with 88 victories, which ranks him tied for 18th all-time in ONU history ... Andrews (87-53) is 21st all-time in ONU history, while Thompson is tied for 33rd all-time with a 76-34 career record ... Mount Union is atop the OAC standings with a 3-0 record and is 11-3 overall ... The Purple Raiders have individuals ranked in the top 26 nationally in eight of the 10 weight classes, including four ranked in the top 10 ... The Blue Streaks are 9-3 overall and are tied for second in the OAC with a 2-1 league mark ... JCU has four of its wrestlers ranked in the top 26 nationally.

Head Coach Ron Beaschler: Beaschler is in his 32nd season at the helm of the Ohio Northern wrestling program and currently stands as the longest-tenured head wrestling coach at the institution ... He sports a 336-239-4 career coaching record in dual action, a winning percentage of .584, making him the all-time winningest coach in program history ... Beaschler was inducted into the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Hall of Fame in 2008 and has been named OAC Coach of the Year three times in 1993, 2012, and 2013.
