The Polar Bears were scheduled to travel to Wooster last Thursday evening, but due to a scheduling error with officials, the contest was postponed ... Sophomore Rachel Shipman scored four goals and Betsy Naugle added three goals to lead Ohio Northern to a 15-8 victory over Trine (Ind.) on Saturday at Dial-Roberson Stadium ... Sophomores Maggie Fuller and Hailey Green each added two goals for ONU ... In its first two games this season, freshman Sydney Skelding leads the team with 7 goals, 2 assists and 9 points ... Shipman and Naugle are tied for second with 5 goals, 2 assists and 7 goals each ... Senior Shannen Larsen Van Alstine and junior Kelli Hill split time in goal ... Larsen Van Alstine has 10 saves and an 11.00 GAA annd Hill has 5 saves and a 6.00 GAA ... Carthage enters the contest after winning its first three contests of the 2018 campaign ... The Lady Reds are coming off of a 20-11 victory over Aurora (Ill.) ... Carthage is led this season by freshman Jessie Gibson's 14 goals ... Senior Rachel Mussel and sophomore Nicole Bowman are currently tied for second on the team with 10 goals each ... Junior Megan McNamara currently has a team-best seven assists through three games for the Lady Reds ... Mussel, Gibson and Bowman rank 1-2-3 on the team in ground balls as Mussel has a team-high 17 grounds balls, Gibson has 14 and Bowman is third with 10 ground balls ... Senior Maggie Allen owns a 3-0 record this season in the goal ... The senior has 36 saves and owns a 9.33 GAA.
ONU Statistical Leaders:
All-Time Series: Ohio Northern and Carthage (Wis.) will square off for the first time in 2018 ... The two teams have not met in either of Northern's first two seasons.
