ADA — Ohio Northern senior Jenna Dirksen (Beavercreek/Carroll) has been awarded All-Ohio Athletic Conference First-Team accolades in women's basketball for the 2018-19 season, the league office announced Wednesday morning.
This season, Dirksen led the Polar Bears and ranked fifth in the OAC with 14.2 points per game. She also paced the Orange and Black with 132 made field goals, 85 made free throws, 66 assists, and 35 steals in a team-high 857 minutes during the campaign.
Additionally, the senior guard ended fourth with 397 total points, tied for fourth with a 40.7% three-point field goal percentage, and ended fifth with an 80.2% free throw clip on the conference leaderboards.
The Beavercreek native concluded her Ohio Northern career with 1,096 career points to rank 12th on the program's all-time scoring list. In addition, Dirksen ranks third in program history with an 82.4% career free throw percentage, sits fourth in career assists with 248, is 11th with 399 made field goals, and stands 12th all-time with 201 made free throws.
The announcement marks the third consecutive season Dirksen has received All-OAC honors, having been named to the Honorable Mention squad in 2016-17 and the All-OAC Second-Team in 2017-18.
She was also honored as a member of the 2019 OAC All-Tournament Team this season.
Ohio Northern finished the 2018-19 campaign with a 15-13 overall record and a 7-11 mark against the league. The program went on an impressive postseason OAC Tournament run, defeating second-seeded Baldwin Wallace and third-seeded Marietta before falling to top-seeded John Carroll in the title game.
