ADA — Junior Amy Bullimore (Morrow/Little Miami) posted her fourth consecutive double-double to help the No. 5-ranked Ohio Northern women's basketball team to an 89-59 victory over John Carroll Saturday afternoon at the ONU Sports Center.

The Polar Bears remain perfect on the year and improve to 23-0 overall and 16-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference standings, while the Blue Streaks fall to 6-17, 4-12.

Bullimore posted a team-high 20 points, and a game-high 10 rebounds and two blocks.

Senior Britt Lauck (Lima/Shawnee) posted a solid stat line as she poured in 19 points, grabbed five rebounds, dished out five assists and added a game-best six steals.

Freshman Abby Weeks (Cincinnati/Mount Notre Dame) chipped in 10 points for the Polar Bears.

John Carroll would keep the first quarter close before Northern used a 10-2 run to close the quarter and take a commanding 21-12 lead.

ONU wasted no time in the second quarter as a layup from Bullimore and back-to-back buckets from Lauck pushed the lead to 27-12 with 8:29 remaining in the first half.

Northern would take a 20-point lead into the half after freshman Emily Mescher (Maria Stein/Marion Local) sunk a free throw to push the lead to 47-27 at the break.

A layup from Bullimore early in the third quarter sparked a 16-0 run capped off by a 3-pointer from Lauck to push to lead to 63-27 with 6:18 left in the quarter.

The Polar Bears would see there lead grow to as many as 87-48 as Weeks stole a JCU pass and found junior Cheyenne Raker (Columbus/Westerville South) for a jumper with 3:28 left in the contest.

Northern shot a blistering 36-of-68 (52.9 percent) from the field, including 8-of-12 (66.7 percent) from the 3-point line.

ONU won the rebounding battle by a 45-30 margin.

Northern will travel to Otterbein on Wednesday evening for a 7:30 pm tipoff, before celebrating Senior Day next Saturday in the regular season finale against Marietta.
