Men's Cross Country places 21st in 40-team field at Louisville Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Ohio Northern men's cross country team raced to a 21st-place finish out of 40 teams in the Louisville Classic on Saturday at Sawyer Park.

"This was a nice bounce back race for us," 11th-year head coach Jason Maus said. "We competed really well on a good course."

ONU (44-25 overall) was 21st with 668 points. North Central (Ill.) won the race with 85 points while John Hopkins (Md.) was second with 116 points.

Junior Travis Sutter (Fort Recovery) finished in career-best 25:54.9, crossing 87th of 276 racers to lead ONU.

Sophomore Patrick Baker (Massillon/Jackson) raced to 111th in a career-best 26:13.8 while junior Jordan Green (Wooster) was 142nd in 26:35.4.

Closing out the ONU scorers were freshman Billy Driemeyer (House Springs, Mo./Lindbergh) and junior Dylan McKean (Warren/Champion), finishing 161st in career-best 26:50.5 and 170th in a career-best 26:57.0, respectively.

Northern's displacers were junior Alessandro Tramontano (Cleveland/Mayfield) and senior Kyle Neff (Sagamore Hills/Walsh Jesuit).

Tramontano was 196th in 27:25.2 and Neff was 211th in 27:42.2.

Ohio Northern returns to the course on Oct. 19 at the Oberlin Rumble.
