Ohio Northern travels to Europe for exhibition games every three years. Here is a brief look at each of the teams' five previous trips.
2016 - Italy
We took a 10 day trip to Italy, visiting major cities of Milan, Florence, and Rome. We toured the San Siro, home stadium of both AC Milan and Inter Milan of the Serie A. We played five games against local opposition, and went sightseeing almost every day – we were able to see the sites such as the Leaning Tower of Pisa, The Sistine Chapel, and the Coliseum.
2013 - Belgium, Germany & Holland
We took an 11-day trip to Belgium, Germany, and Holland. We watched Ajax of Amsterdam and Roda play from the Dutch Eredivisie, visited the sight of the Battle of the Bulge in Bastogne, Belgium. Played four matches in all three countries.
2010 - England, Denmark & Sweeden
We took an 11 day trip to England, Denmark and Sweden. We saw the Charity Cup game at Wembley Stadium, which was Manchester United vs. Chelsea. We also saw the top team in Sweden (AIK Sweden) play a home game in front of a great crowd. We trained two times and played in 4 matches and were able to go sightseeing almost every day
2007 - Czech Republic, Germany & England
We took an 11 day trip to the Czech Republic, Germany, and England. We got to see Bayern Munich Stadium, and the Tottenham Hotspurs play a match in London. We also saw AC Sparta Praha play in Prague including a tour of the stadium. We trained 2 times and played in 4 matches in all 3 countries.
2004 - London & Italy
We took an 11-day trip to London and Italy. We saw an English Premier League game in London (Liverpool vs. Tottenham). In Italy, we stopped in five cities, including Rome, Lake Como, Pisa, Florence, and Milan. Along the way, practiced daily and played in 5 games against top-level professional club teams.
