ADA — Junior Anthony McFadden (Cillicothe/paint Valley) completed 16-of-26 passes for 236 yards and a touchdown to lead the Ohio Northern football team in a 55-24 loss to No. 1-ranked Mount Union on a rainy Saturday afternoon at Dial-Roberson Stadium.

The Polar Bears (5-3 overall, 4-3 Ohio Athletic Conference) also celebrated Homecoming Weekend and Senior Day on Saturday.

The Purple Raiders (8-0, 7-0) were led by D'Angelo Fulford, who was 18-of-21 passing for 332 yards and seven touchdowns and ran 12 times for 60 yards.

Josh Petruccelli also ran 17 times for 105 yards and a score for MtU.

Mount Union scored on its first six possessions, including all four in the first half.

But the Polar Bears also had success on offense, scoring on a 1-yard pass from McFadden to senior Chad Rex (Bradenton, Fla./Lakewood Ranch) and a 38-yard field goal from senior Chase Watson (Lima/Elida) to trail 27-10 at intermission.

Sophomore A.J. Marks (Guysville/Alexander) banged in from 3 yards out on ONU's second possession of the second half to make it 34-17.

After freshman Kedarius Woodfork (Brownsville, Tenn./Haywood) recovered a fumble at the Mt. Union 31, Marks capped the ensuing drive with a 3-yard run and it was 41-24 with 1:57 left in the third.

MtU out-gained ONU 540-318 in total offense and had 11 sacks for 79 yards in losses, resulting in a net of only 82 yards rushing for the Polar Bears.

Junior David Haseleu (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) and sophomore Andrew Valenti (Farmersville/Valley View) had 10 tackles each to lead the ONU defense.

The Polar Bears will take to the road for their final two games of the season, playing at Baldwin Wallace next Saturday and at Heidelberg on Nov. 10.
