Ohio Northern junior Terri Lynn Shigle named OAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern junior Terri Lynn Shigle (Irwin, Pa./Penn-Trafford) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women’s Swimmer of the Week for the week of Nov. 17-23.

Shigle swept the 1- and 3-meter diving events as the Polar Bears hosted Wittenberg in a non-conference dual meet Friday night at the ONU Sports Center.

She won the 1-meter with a score of 220.65 and won the 3-meter with a score of 199.70.

ADA -- Terri Lynn Shigle swept the 1- and 3-meter diving events to lead the Ohio Northern women's swimming and diving team in a non-conference dual meet with Wittenberg Friday night at the ONU Sports Center.

Wittenberg (5-1) edged the Polar Bears (2-5) 135-108.

Shigle won the 1-meter with a score of 220.65 and won the 3-meter with a score of 199.70.

Michelle Eggers named OAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week

ADA — Freshman Michelle Eggers (Leawood, Kan./Olathe) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women’s Swimmer of the Week for her efforts in Ohio Northern’s tri-meet at Hillsdale (Mich.) with Olivet (Mich.) on Saturday.

Eggers finished the 1000 free in 11:12.26, good for second in the event.

She added another second place finish in the 500 free, with a time of 5:25.23.

Despite Eggers’ efforts, Ohio Northern fell to NCAA Division II Hillsdale 164-70 and to Olivet 123-117.
