Brennan posts 87 in the third round of the NCAA Golf Championships

WAVERLY, IOWA — Ohio Northern senior Meagan Brennan carded an 87 in the third round of the NCAA Division III Women’s Golf Championships at the Centennial Golf Club in Waverly, Iowa.

For the second straight day, Brennan got off to a tough start, triple bogeying the 12th hole, her third of the day. She added two pars and three bogies before another triple bogie on number 18 to post an opening nine 46.

She played better on the front nine, posting five pars but she could do no better than a 41 on the closing nine for an 18-hole total of 87.

Brennan will start the fourth and final round in a tie for 75th. Methodist's Susen Martin continues to lead the tournament at 5-over par after rounds of 74-72-75—221.

Methodist also leads the team race by 27 shots heading into the final round. OAC Champion Otterbein carded a 315 in round three and is in fourth place, 37 shots in back of Methodist.

At the National Golf Coaches Association banquet Wednesday evening, Brennan was named to the Duramed FUTURES Tour NGCA All-American Team. She was also named to the NGCA All-Great Lakes Region Team.
